Marie-Eve obtained her BA in Art History from Queen’s University, Canada, with part of her studies being completed at Freie Universität Berlin. In 2022, she received her MA from the Department of Medieval Studies at Central European University in Comparative History with a thesis on the underdrawings of Jheronimus Bosch and the artistic economy of the Gothic Northern Renaissance. In between, she works as the Artistic Director of the Dr. Eva Kahan Foundation in Budapest and Vienna for the promotion of Central and Eastern European contemporary art. Previously, she held several curatorial positions at institutions in Poland, New York, and Berlin, as well as acting as collections researcher under Stephen Brown at the Jewish Museum in New York City. She was awarded the prestigious Hnatyshyn Foundation Residency for Young Canadian Curators in 2020.
Triggered by the symbiological aspects found in Boschian works, her present research focuses on the use of spolia in medieval reliquaries as vehicles for the transfer of emotion following sociological and anthropological dimensions of art historical analysis.
